ATEX Roof & Inline Fans

Project-specific fan configuration using an ATEX-certified motor for classified-area ventilation. The complete fan assembly is not claimed as ATEX certified.

Certification boundary: only the motor certificate and marking supplied for the selected motor may be described as ATEX certified. Fan assembly conformity requires a separate assessment and valid evidence for the complete configuration.

Selection and release process

  1. Confirm classified zone and hazardous substance.
  2. Select the base RAFAVENT fan from the required airflow and pressure.
  3. Select the certified Ex motor from its certificate and marking.
  4. Review materials, clearances, earthing, guards and control method.
  5. Issue the project submittal with a clear certification boundary.

Available Sizes

Size availability follows the selected base fan family and project duty. No ATEX size range is released until zone, gas or dust group, equipment category, temperature class, ambient conditions and required evidence are confirmed.

Performance Data

Airflow, static and total pressure, density, temperature, speed, absorbed power and motor data are selected for the exact configuration. Published preliminary values are not certified hazardous-area ratings.

Performance Curve

The P–Q curve and absorbed-power curve are issued for the selected base fan after density correction and hazardous-area configuration review. A universal ATEX curve would be technically misleading.

Dimensions

Overall envelope, inlet and outlet connections, motor space, guards, earthing points, inspection access and installation clearances are released on the approved GA drawing.

Construction & Materials

Impeller and casing materials, clearances, fasteners, guards, earthing, coating, corrosion protection and potential spark-contact risks are reviewed and recorded for the declared hazard.

Drive Arrangement

Direct, belt or coupling arrangements are configuration-specific. Motors and any electrical or mechanical component within the classified area require appropriate marking and documented suitability.

Technical Documentation

Controlled deliverables may include datasheet, GA drawing, selected performance curves, motor Ex certificate, material specification, ignition-risk assessment, installation and maintenance instructions, inspection records and applicable declaration.

Compliance boundary: An Ex-certified motor alone does not certify the complete fan. ATEX or hazardous-area compliance is claimed only for the exact supplied configuration when supported by the required technical file and applicable conformity documents.
