RAFAVENT ENERGY-EFFICIENT VENTILATION
EC & High-Efficiency Fans
Project-selected EC fan modules and high-efficiency motor/VFD arrangements for variable-duty ventilation. Electrical and efficiency claims apply only to the exact selected fan-motor-control package.
Technical boundary: EC technology does not by itself define complete-fan efficiency. Motor class, input power, fan efficiency, control protocol, protection and energy comparison are stated only from the selected product documentation and duty point.
Available system arrangements
EC centrifugal / plug-fan module
Backward-curved module with integrated EC electronics where supported by the selected manufacturer.
EC axial / inline module
Variable-speed axial or inline assembly selected for airflow, pressure, acoustics and installation.
High-efficiency AC motor + VFD
Conventional fan with documented high-efficiency motor and matched inverter; system efficiency verified at duty.
Required electrical and control schedule
| Required field | Project definition |
|---|---|
| Motor / drive type | EC integrated drive or AC motor with VFD |
| Supply | Exact voltage, phase, frequency, current and input power |
| Control input | 0–10 V, PWM, enable contact or other documented input |
| Communication | Modbus RTU/BACnet/alarm output only where provided by selected unit |
| Protection | IP rating, thermal overload, locked-rotor, phase and undervoltage functions |
| Feedback | Speed, status, alarm, power or temperature only when documented |
| Operating limits | Ambient temperature, altitude, humidity, EMC and harmonic requirements |
| Efficiency evidence | Motor class, fan efficiency and complete package input power kept separate |
| Commissioning | Minimum speed, resonance exclusion, ramp, setpoint and fail-safe behaviour |
Preliminary model performance
Calculated selection data — non-certified. Variable speed is available only within the selected motor/fan limits; final input power and efficiency require model-specific documentation.

Selection and release process
- Define airflow, pressure and all operating points across the schedule.
- Confirm supply, control signal, BMS protocol, alarm and feedback requirements.
- Select the exact fan, motor/EC electronics and protection features.
- Verify input power, efficiency, acoustics, resonance and part-load operation.
- Issue wiring, control and performance documents for the selected package.
